Paying Your Bill

Beginning on August 1, 2018 credit card payments over the phone and website will not be accepted until the transition to the new Utility Billing System is complete.   Customers can still make payments using a credit card or via cash & check at the Utility Customer Care Center located at 300 Industrial Blvd., Georgetown, TX 78627.

Georgetown Utility Systems (GUS) will implement the new utility billing system on August 6, 2018!  This system will help customers manage their usage and payments more effectively and all in one place.  This new system will be the first implementation of a utility billing system in more than 20 years and will allow GUS to offer new and improved ways for customers to manage their utility service.  The ability to pay bills and receive up to the minute texts and alerts using smartphone technology will provide instant access for our customers.

The new system protects customer data and does not store sensitive payment information.  Payment information is managed by the customer and stored with a Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliant vendor through the new customer utility portal.   Credit cards and auto draft payments are processed via the portal which eliminates the need to send sensitive credit card information to the utility and removes the risk of a credit card breach.

Georgetown Utility Systems is committed to working with our customers through this transition, therefore, the City is suspending late fees and disconnects for the month of August 2018.  Georgetown Utility Systems will resume regular practices on late fees and disconnects for non-payment beginning on September 1, 2018.


A further breakdown on how customers can pay their bills and how their payment methods will be affected is below:

  • Online Payments:  Not available 8/1/2018 – 8/6/2018
    • You can view your utility account and pay your bill online. The first time you login, you will need your utility account number to create an account. There is no fee to use the online web portal. Please click here to access.
      • After 8/6/2018: An online account at MUST be created to pay your bill and/or check your usage via the web portal.
      • After 8/6/2018: Current *AUTO DRAFT CUSTOMERS* must create a new online account at and set up a recurring payment method to continue having bills paid automatically each month.
  • 24-hour Payment Drop Boxes: Available Today
    • Available for after-hours, weekends and holiday payments
